Description

We are looking for volunteers to help clients: Trouble shoot technical issues, offer impartial advice on technology, set up new tech and install hardware and software, show people how to use tier tech at home e.g shop online, send and receive emails and make adaptions to support a disabled persons specific technology needs.

AbilityNet aims to make the benefits of computers available to adults and children with disabilities to enable them to use a computer at home, in education or in employment. AbilityNet provides a wide range of services to individuals, professionals in the field of disability, employers and the public sector.

Minimum commitment 12 hours per month.

Restrictions

Experience required: If you use a computer at home or work, and perhaps support family and friends with their tech issues, you are likely to have the skills we need: Passion to help others, Good IT and computer skills, Knowledge of standard operating systems and software, The ability to communicate well with people.
Travel details: Around Edinburgh, in your local area.
Minimum age: 16

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: £0.45 per mile if driving and bus/train fare.
