Fundraising Engagement Assistant

Description

Save the Children are looking to engage as many people as possible to get them donating, fundraising and raising awareness. You can help this process through your local networks. This is a terrific role for you to get stuck into and all you’ll need is a computer and a phone.

By researching local businesses, schools and organisations, you’ll also look for potential opportunities and different ways to promote local fundraising activities happening in your community. So, you’ll need to feel confident speaking to different people over the phone, using the internet to carry out research and creating a spreadsheet or report for your Community Fundraising Manager. And once you've done that, you could get involved in the organisation and delivery of different events and initiatives. Each local community is different and with your help we can make the most of the interests and opportunities your local one provides.

We support them to learn, grow and become who they want to be. Our shops help raise vital funds, and our volunteers are the leading force in making this possible. Your donation of time, creativity and kindness can help us change the future for children all over the world!

Frequency and commitment details

Approximately 2 hours per week for initial period of 6 months

Restrictions

Under Save the Children’s safeguarding policy, a child is under 18 of age and we can’t take on volunteers under 18
Experience required: Outgoing, ability to use internet and email, good understanding of the local community, local networks and ability to speak to people
Travel details: Dundee & Angus
Minimum age: 18

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Public transport costs reimbursed on production of tickets purchased. Mileage paid at 45p/mile. As discussed between volunteer and Community Fundraising Manager
Taster available: Yes
Training details: Would follow STC’s Volunteering training procedures including shadowing CFM to appointments, monthly 121’s, included in volunteer database and therefore comms from our Volunteering team, invites to volunteer information events

This is a great opportunity to be involved with a Christian Medical charity to raise funds for a neglected tropical disease. Leprosy still exists in over 120 countries with approximately 200,000 new cases every year despite there being a cure. The group has been in existence in the local area for over 50 years. We meet 4 times per year to organise events eg coffee mornings, concerts, participating in sponsored walk such as the Kilt Walk and running events. Speaking opportunities are available to inform others of the charity. We have a good relationship with various local churches who support us and send in donations. You would be volunteering with a small group of friendly , welcoming people to use your ideas to participate in and enhance fundraising events. All new ideas for fundraising are always welcomed. We feel new members to the group would enhance and refresh what we do. A warm welcome is extended to attend a meeting to decide whether this is something you would enjoy and find as rewarding as we do. Volunteer Fundraiser

Zambia Therapeutic Art (ZTA) is offering an opportunity to an enthusiastic volunteer to develop their skills and experience in fundraising and marketing the charity. We need to develop a wider profile and supporter base and identify suitable funding opportunities. We are looking for someone who could work flexibly from home with reasonable expenses reimbursed and work alongside Board members who have skills/experience in marketing and fundraising. ZTA is a small Scotland-based charity that has been developing and delivering training in using art as a psychosocial intervention to Mental Health professionals and trainees in Zambia since 2015. The work has progressed since then, receiving enthusiastic support from the Zambian Ministry of Health, hospitals, academic institutions and other NGOs. In pursuit of sustainability 8 Zambian trainers have been certified and have formed an organisation, Therapeutic Art Zambia, which is being supported to expand the training and practice of Therapeutic Art. Our core team of 4 trustees (The Board) and 4 trainers (2 of whom are Trustees) are all volunteers and the Zambian trainers give their time and efforts freely. Board members work alongside our volunteers to develop and expand the charity, creating and expanding its role. Community Volunteer

We are looking for people who are passionate about ending child hunger and ensuring that every child receives a daily meal in a place of education. We have a range of activities that can be done from the comfort of your home, while Covid-19 restrictions are in place. They include: hosting virtual talks, spreading the word about our work on social media or holding screenings of our inspiring videos with family and friends. If you don’t mind public speaking, we can also train you to visit schools, Rotary Clubs and other local organisations to give talks virtually and generate support for our cause.

WaterAid Speaker Network Volunteers

WaterAid Speakers are trained volunteers that deliver inspiring talks and workshops, to raise awareness about the importance of clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene, to transform peoples’ lives for good. Our Speaker volunteers engage audiences about the important work of WaterAid, inspiring them to take action, as they speak with schools, universities, businesses, youth groups, religious places of worship, service organisations, and many more. WaterAid Speakers: •Deliver a minimum of four talks or workshops per year, either online and/or face to face. •Deliver talks or workshops on key days such as: World Water Day on 22 March, World Toilet Day on 19 November, Menstrual Hygiene Day on 28 May and Global Handwashing Day on 15 October. •Contact new audiences to organise and deliver talk and workshop opportunities. •Complete online Speaker Network training and adhere to volunteer guidance and best practise. •Make use of our public speaking resources (such as PowerPoint presentations) included in our Speaker e-newsletter, emails, and online resource library. •Keep up to date with our key messages, appeals, campaigns, fundraising and volunteering. •Regularly liaise with the Speaker Network team about talks and workshops. •Provide feedback on talks or workshops by completing the online evaluations. •Provide support to new Speakers around their public speaking development. •Demonstrate the WaterAid values including being considerate when representing WaterAid and always leaving others with a positive view of our organisation and the work that we do.
