Fundraising and Events Volunteer

The purpose of this role is to support Borders Services to raise funds to enhance Alzheimer Scotland’s support to people with dementia and their carers.
This may include participating in and/or supporting activities such as fundraising collections, motivating our event participants as part of a Cheer Squad, researching possible opportunities for our charity and/or raining awareness about our service(s), staffing stands at memory walks and other planned events. These roles may at times require lone working.

Role Description:

  1. To participate in and assist with cash collection and coordinating of monies raised at events and activities.
  2. To participate in event set up, coordination and de-rigging where required.
  3. To signpost queries relating to Dementia as required.
  4. To help with licencing and liaising with proprietors for collection dates.
  5. To be an inspirational and motivations voice for our supporters.
  6. To document potential ideas that the charity could adopt.
  7. To attend training to be informed about dementia and to attend any other necessary training relevant to volunteering role.
  8. To carry out any other reasonable duties requested of the volunteer.
  9. To be an ambassador for our charity.

Experience required: Caring nature. Willing to enable and support a person living with dementia and their family. Good listening skills. Empathy and patience.
Travel details: Scottish Borders wide – Various locations to suit volunteer
Minimum age: 16
