Description

The role of the Media Co-ordinator will involve weekly opportunity at Dens Park stadium. You will volunteer alongside the Community Trust Manager to share the roles and activity of the Community Trust via social media, website and match day programme. This role will include visits to projects to promote and raise further awareness. Projects include educational talks and workshops, walking football and sessions for young people. The media co-ordinator will be asked to create a live feed during event delivery and also use pictures and film to bring our projects to life. The co-ordinator will support the development of our website through updates.

Organisation aims and objectives

Our purpose is to advance education and public participation in sport through the organisation of recreational activities leading to improvement in conditions or life of participants Out charitable objects are to improve social inclusion in the community, the advancement of education, organise recreational activity to improve health, fitness and well-being. And, the advancement of public participation by providing the opportunity for adults and youths in Dundee and local area to play football.

Restrictions

Experience required: Volunteers would need a knowledge of Social Media in particular Facebook and Twitter as well as an understanding of the basics of web design. An interest in sport and community development would also be a great help
Travel details: Dens Park Stadium, Dundee. The stadium is well served by buses on Arklay Street, Dens Road and Strathmartine Road.

Taster details: To shadow the Community Trust Manager to gain a better understanding of what the role is about.
Training details: Introduction to the media staff at Dundee FC; Guidance of the role; expectations and boundaries; familiarisation of venue and introduction to the equipment needed for the role
