Description

The Lead Volunteer will support the Regional Digital Inclusion Coordinators supervising, training and guiding Digital Champion volunteers. It is expected that the Lead Volunteer will support up to 10 volunteers delivering digital sessions to our clients as well as ideally delivering sessions themselves.

Key activities include:
• Inducting volunteers to Discover IT clients and centres, to Digital Champion toolkits and processes
• Liaise between the Coordinator, the clients, centres and volunteers
• Encouraging disabled people to feel confident in using computer technology
• Ideally helping clients set up and get started on their IT equipment, troubleshooting IT issues and supporting clients with basic IT skills.

Restrictions

Experience required: •General IT Skills •Reliable •Good listening and explaining skills •Interest in the volunteering sector •Willing to support choice and independence for disabled people •Non-judgemental, empathetic and patient
Travel details: e.g. Number Ten is in Dundee city centre. Receipted out of pocket expenses such as bus fares will be reimbursed.

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Public transport costs reimbursed on production of tickets purchased. Mileage paid at 45p/mile.
Training details: •Volunteer induction training •Use of adaptive software & hardware (if required) •We will provide ongoing and tailored training depending on your needs.
