Section Leader and Assistant Leader

  • VO71962

Description

Scouts prepare young people with skills for life.
As a Leader you’ll encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more. You’ll also have fun, develop new skills and have unforgettable experiences yourself.

As a Section Leader or Assistant Leader, you will be responsible for planning and leading a balanced programme of activities for your Section. The program will provide our young people with exciting and challenging experiences, enabling them to use those experiences in their personal and social development. You’ll not be alone in this and will have help of the Group Scout Leader and Assistant Section Leaders as well as the wider Scout Group.

Organisation aims and objectives

Scouting helps children and young adults reach their full potential through developing skills including teamwork, time management, leadership, initiative, planning, communication, self-motivation, cultural awareness and commitment. Scouting relies on our adult volunteers, who support Scouts in a wide range of roles from working directly with young people, to helping manage a Group, to being a charity Trustee.
