Answering phone calls from the public. Arranging delivery and collection of furniture and goods. inputting details of sold items into a stock database. Creating posters and updating social media pages, especially Facebook. Taking photos of stock new into the shop and uploading on to Facebook page. Answering emails and other admin duties as directed.

Organisation aims and objectives

Employability Orkney provides a range of sustainable supported employment, training and volunteering opportunities which promote social inclusion for those furthest from the labour market. Our social enterprise Restart Orkney sells furniture, household items, white goods and clothing at affordable prices.


Experience required: Excellent customer service and phone skills. Good level of literacy for taking phone messages. Reliable and able to work as part of a team.
Minimum age: 18


Training details: On the job training. Details of phone script provided. Support on site. All staff receive an induction, take a pre employment questionnaire and are risk assessed after 4 weeks.
