Our shops are very much part of their local community and volunteers help us make a real difference to children’s lives. Joining a fantastic team of volunteers, you’ll be helping to raise vital funds for children in the UK and overseas and telling our customers about the great work Save the Children does
What you’ll be doing?
• Welcoming and serving customers, including handling money.
• Sorting donations and stock.
• Making the shop look attractive, clean and tidy.
• Helping with promotional events at the shop.
• Following all shop processes, including registering Gift Aid donations

Organisation aims and objectives

Save the Children is a child rights organisation. We work in 120 countries worldwide, funding programmes and advocating our cause to change children's lives. Our work spans both ongoing development programmes and emergency response, including in the UK. Our volunteering opportunities are based in the UK only. The general public get involved by volunteering, donating, fundraising and campaigning.

Restrictions

Experience required: Friendly and welcoming; Sociable and can chat with customers; Able to handle money; Happy to be part of a team; Flexible and willing to do any of the shop tasks.
Travel details: Peebles shop.
Minimum age: 18

Expenses details: Can cover reasonable expenses, provided proof of travel is provided and a minimum of 4 hr shift completed.
