Description

Shetland Bereavement Support Service (SBSS) are looking to recruit volunteer Support Workers. A Support Worker will provide one to one counselling to anyone struggling to cope following a bereavement.

Organisation aims and objectives

'Minding you while you mind them' Shetland Bereavement Support Service works with local and national service providers, funders and the local community to provide awareness and good practice in bereavement care in Shetland by providing information, training and education. Through our specially trained volunteers we seek to offer accessible and sustainable support to any individual in Shetland who is experiencing a bereavement with the aim that no on in Shetland finds themselves alone and struggling with their grief.

Restrictions

Minimum of Certificate in Counselling Skills, then to undergo our Bereavement Loss training.
Experience required: Minimum of Certificate in Counselling Skills, then to undergo our Bereavement Loss training.
Travel details: Market House, Lerwick, Shetland.
Minimum age: 18
