Community Gardening Volunteer

Castlebank Horticultural Centre are looking for volunteers with a keen interest in growing local produce, greening their fingers and looking to learn new skills within their luxurious community garden. The role gives volunteers the chance to meet new people, learn new skills and enjoy some fresh air whilst socialising with others in a friendly green environment.

All tools and equipment are provided. However it is requested that volunteers wear comfy clothes and sensible shoes.

All ages are welcome. However children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Organisation aims and objectives

Lanark Community Development Trust are a charitable, non-profit body which carries out projects for the common good of the Lanark area. The Trust aims to develop and deliver priority community projects which have a social, environmental and economic impact.










Flexible to suit.


Volunteers must be 16yrs or over. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Experience required: No specific skills or experience required. All that is required is a desire to work outdoors mostly and be open to interacting with other volunteers of varying age ranges. However it would be advantageous if volunteers had some knowledge of common gardening techniques or horticulture.
Travel details: This volunteering takes place in SOUTH LANARKSHIRE in Lanark
