We all need to stay at home to protect ourselves and others. However, those who are well and not at risk can provide essential support for their family, friends and neighbours who cannot leave the house.

Description

Mearns Kirk Helping Hands aims to offer an excellent volunteering experience to anyone who is willing to offer their time, skills and commitment to helping us run our activities. We are currently looking for friendly, caring drivers to help people get to and from our activities.

Mearns Kirk Helping Hands runs several different activities each week, allowing those who may otherwise be at home alone the opportunity to socialise and have fun with others. We are looking for volunteers who are willing to use their own car or drive our minibus to help people to access these activities. There is no minimum time commitment, though our activities currently take place during the day on weekdays.

A full training package is provided, and you will be sent a full role profile when you enquire about the opportunity.

Organisation aims and objectives

A charity aimed to help improve the health and wellbeing of the local community, with volunteers being at the heart of what we do. Some of the work includes supporting people with dementia and their carers' and helping others become more connected in their community. We are a dynamic and evolving charity and are looking to expand on all the good work we do with the help of additional volunteers
