We all need to stay at home to protect ourselves and others. However, those who are well and not at risk can provide essential support for their family, friends and neighbours who cannot leave the house.

Telecare Support

  • VO71266

Our telephone service supports unpaid carers where the person they care for is aged 65 years old or over. Volunteers can help deliver our telephone service supporting unpaid carers where the person they care for is aged 65 years old or over. We offer a friendly voice at the other end of the phone for people to have a chat with and are there to listen with emotional and practical support.
As part of a team you will join our rota for staffing the helpline. Training will be given and because of the nature of our work PVG membership will be required

Organisation aims and objectives

PKAVS Carers Services support unpaid Carers of all ages, living in Perth & Kinross and caring for family, partners, friends or neighbours. Using a holistic approach in working with people who have caring responsibilities we help carers retain a life outside of caring and develop skills or interests to enhance their own lives.

Experience required: Volunteers will have an active interest in people and over time become a ‘good friend on the phone’, someone the carer can share a laugh with but most importantly be there to listen and give emotional and practical support during difficult times.
