We are really excited to be putting a call out for people to help us. As our Transport Museum grows, we are creating and promoting new exhibitions, and events for everyone in the community, BY the community and we want you to get involved!

Typical roles include, Front of House Assistant- meet and greet customer service advisers, Admin Assistants with several roles to choose from, Archivists, Social Media Leads, Writers for our magazine, Artists, Retail Assistants, Exhibition Researchers, Education Assistants and so much more!

If you are looking to change career and learn new skills, or indeed teach us some, get in contact! You just might want to do something different or just enjoy lending your spare time helping our community. There's something here for everyone so please do get in touch.

Organisation aims and objectives

Preservation and collection of historical and vintage vehicles to advance and promote heritage and education of the general public. To provide training in vehicle restoration, and organise meetings and lectures on a wide range of transport and vehicle subjects.

Restrictions

Experience required: General ability and willingness to learn, we are looking to support the person in to either employment or act as a mentor for them along with inclusive environment
Minimum age: 14

Support

Taster available: Yes
Training details: We work to a first day in the museum induction checklist, covering all of the major points regarding the business fire safety full health and safety overview. We then work a buddy system for any new staff to use as a point of contact, we would hope as the volunteer grows their skills base the could move across different departments, we regularly communicate with volunteer workforce and have regular monthly meetings for the volunteers to get a full briefing on progress at the museum.
