Description

We’re a small community centre in North Edinburgh looking for board members who would be interested in the development of the Prentice Centre. The Trust own the building and income is self generated from grant making trusts, foundations, donations and self -fundraising activities.
The Board meet once a month, normally on a Monday lunchtime and follow an agenda which is prepared and sent out in advance. Discussions take place on various issues, eg. Development of servies, local community need, Centre programming, Staffing, funding, etc.

Organisation aims and objectives

West Granton Community Trust, which manages The Prentice Centre, was set up as a focal point for the regeneration of West Granton.

School Holidays;Term Time;Summer Holidays Normally 2 hours per month for Board Meeting but can be more dependant on issues that may arise.

Restrictions

Experience required: If you have a business background, in HR, Legal, Finance, fundraising, community work, then that would be particularly helpful, however we would be happy to accept anyone who may be interested and have the time to commit to the Board and to our community.

Minimum age: 21
