Please note, organisations are currently experiencing a large volume of enquiries from people looking to help out. They may not always be able to meet this demand so please be patient, you may not receive a quick response or be assigned to a role.


Please note that this opportunity is only available to residents of Cambuslang or Rutherglen.

The Venue Host will provide a helpful, welcoming and professional first point of contact to the Number 18 venue, both via telephone and in person. As part of your role you be responsible for the general care and presentation of the venue, help set-up rooms and help keep the venue clean and tidy throughout the day.

As a Venue Host you will be responsible for effectively dealing with all telephone enquiries, taking messages or giving out information as appropriate, checking emails or other administrational tasks as agreed, completing volunteer logs (using sign-in sheets), ensuring rooms are tidy and correctly set-up, ensuring that all AV equipment is in place for each event, refilling teas/coffee, milk, paper towels, toilet tissues etc., ensuring signage is in place when events are on specific floors/rooms, and ensuring all activities are conducted in accordance with the Healthy n Happy equal opportunities and health and safety polices. Healthy n Happy is a community development trust and our key purpose is to provide community members in Cambuslang and Rutherglen with the opportunity to take an active part in improving their lives and in ensuring their own, their family, and their community’s current and future health and wellbeing.










4 hours per week or more if they wish (10am - 2pm, 1pm - 5pm or 5pm - 9pm)


Volunteers must be 18yrs or over.
Experience required: Friendly, helpful and enthusiastic manner and great interpersonal skills; reliability and the ability to work as part of a team or on their own; flexible approach to work and have good time management skills; understand attention to detail and high quality building presentation; basic I.T skills and be able to perform data entry tasks; good communication skills and a willingness to learn.

Training details: Induction, training and regular one-to-ones. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to work within other teams.
