Description

This volunteering opportunity offers individuals the chance to fundraise for a homeless organisation. Volunteers will work with staff to research and identify various ways to fund raise, assist with all aspects of organising fundraising events and dealing with various companies, organisations and local authority etc. who wish to do corporate/group volunteering to raise funds.

Organisation aims and objectives

C.A.T.H. (Churches Action for the Homeless) is a local charity which supports, encourages and promotes the development and delivery of projects to relieve homelessness and poor housing, improve the conditions of life and generally aid the development of individuals who are homeless in the Perth & Kinross area. The organisation recognises the associated problems that homelessness presents and works to alleviate these and help maintain and improve the quality of life of our beneficiaries. CATH is a private company limited by guarantee and a charity regulated by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator.

Experience required: • Good I.T. skills • Ability to work positively with a wide range of people • A professional and friendly telephone manner • Good written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work on own initiative • Previous fundraising experience would be a bonus but not necessary • Commitment to work in compliance with policies and procedures • An interest in homelessness
Travel details: CATH Day Centre – Ladeside (Behind The Range in St Catherine’s retail park) Main office – 188-190 High Street (Located above our Charity Shop)

Taster details: Initially complete one shift then will discuss with Senior worker/Volunteer Co-ordinator.
