This opportunity provides volunteers with the chance to engage directly with our service users while undertaking a variety of activities, assist staff and other volunteers in creating new activities, encourage the service users to engage in the activities and also with each other, discuss with the groups what activities would be of interest to them, organise and develop new activities to engage more service users.

Organisation aims and objectives

C.A.T.H. (Churches Action for the Homeless) is a local charity which supports, encourages and promotes the development and delivery of projects to relieve homelessness and poor housing, improve the conditions of life and generally aid the development of individuals who are homeless in the Perth & Kinross area. The organisation recognises the associated problems that homelessness presents and works to alleviate these and help maintain and improve the quality of life of our beneficiaries. CATH is a private company limited by guarantee and a charity regulated by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator.

Experience required: • A non-judgemental approach, friendly and considerate attitude. • Reliable and enthusiastic. • Work with minimal supervision. • Understand limitations & boundaries and follow all relevant policies & procedures. • Enjoy working in group settings. • Work positively and assertively with a wide range of people, disadvantaged in some way • Have an interest in homelessness.
Travel details: CATH Day Centre – Ladeside (Behind The Range in St Catherine’s retail park) Main office – 188-190 High Street (Located above our Charity Shop)
