  • VO70095

Description

Female Befriender wanted for a young woman we support, to meet up fortnightly. Monday, Thursday or Saturday early evening for a coffee and a chat, bit of shopping or walking. A car driver would be great, but not essential, as we are conveniently located for public transport.

Befrienders are matched with the aim of sharing common interests and activities. We offer an induction, ongoing support and training to develop valuable skills and experience.

Time commitment: You must be prepared to commit to regular meeting times that are convenient to you and the person you are befriending preferably on a fortnightly basis for a minimum period of 6 months. There will be a 3 month trial period to ensure both parties are happy with the match.

Volunteer out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

Please get in touch if you are friendly, patient and caring. Two references and a Disclosure PVG check will be carried out by us and at no cost to yourself. If you would like to find out more, please contact our Volunteer Co-ordinator, Lauren Jarvis. Tel: 0141 620 2500, email: ljarvis@cosgrovecare.org.uk.
