Description

Volunteers wanted to help with the daily maintenance required to run the yard and look after the various horses and ponies and work alongside the groups of adults and children we help.

A good sense of humour, love of animals , outdoors and people required. The role consists of helping bring in and turn out horses and ponies , picking out hooves ,grooming, tack cleaning and rug changing.
Field maintenance required, topping up of waters , helping with fencing . You must be quite robust and able to cope with the elements
Leading various groups on horse back either around the countryside or in the arena. Helping childrens lessons with balance and utilising the games equipment

Eat, Sleep, Ride is a social enterprise targeting people experiencing mental health problems.Those that have suffered abuse, lived in areas of high deprivation and other challenges such as drug/alcohol addiction. We are accessible for Edinburgh, The Lothian's and Borders directly off the A1 with adequate spaces for car parking.

Restrictions

Experience required: No horse experience required as training can be given . Ability to work on own initative or in a group. People person, enthusiastic and hardworking are all great skills to process.
Travel details: Heugh Head Farm, Reston, Berwickshire. We are accessible for Edinburgh, The Lothian's and Borders directly off the A1 with adequate spaces for car parking.

Training details: You will work alongside the manager/ownerand training will be given when required , if there are enough people than a training day once a month wil be arranged.
Support: Wheelchair Access/Disabled Access Toilet
