Description

This is an opportunity to work with a dedicated group of staff, volunteer and members who attend the Beeslack Family Disabled Club on a Sunday from 12.30 – 3.30 p.m. The club have vacancies on the management committee for trustees in general and in specific business areas. We would be delighted to hear from you and to work together to ensure the club remains strong in its leadership and management, as well as to support sustainability and development.

Organisation aims and objectives

The primary aim of the club is to provide opportunities for all members to integrate socially and educationally in a warm friendly environment. This enables the club to: Promote social welfare for disabled people of all ages; educational and recreational opportunities, thereby encouraging greater independence of disabled individuals; encourage by the involvement and participation of the whole family, greater support to the disabled persons and thereby develop greater support between families. The Family Disabled Club is able to offer a wide variety of activities such as Swimming, Woodwork, Cookery, Computers, Arts & Crafts, Music, and Community Lounge. Each week the attendance of individuals and groups may change, everyone still has the opportunity to access the activities that interested them. This group have achieved their primary aim by encouraging involvement and participation for all family members. The social and educational opportunities give greater independence therefore creating a much nicer overall experience.
