Veterans Community Support Volunteer

The objective for our volunteer befriending service is to develop a network of well trained and supported volunteers through which comradeship will be offered to all of those who require it. The service will be needs-led, in that we aim to respond to the changing needs of our clients, rather than insisting on a resource-led 'one size fits all' service. The service that we offer might take the form of a fortnightly visit for tea and company, or a weekly session to help with a more specific issue, such as supporting the client to fill in forms and access services. Perhaps the client could benefit from more intensive, more frequent support at times, and then be content with just a phone call at other times.
