Aberlour Options Moray offer a safe, homely environment for children with disabilities to come and stay for a short break that gives their families a rest from their caring role. Volunteer Drivers can help support the service by assisting children and young people with travel during their stay. This can involving picking children up from their home with a staff member, taking them home after their stay, or helping them to access their regular activities while staying with the respite service.

The impact you can make...
Being away from home can be a daunting experience for children and young people. Volunteer Drivers play a key role in helping children and young people feel comfortable, secure and at ease from the beginning of their stay and throughout. Volunteer Drivers can impact on a child or young person’s experience through positive interactions, supporting them to participate in new experiences and to have an enjoyable stay with Aberlour Options Moray.

The benefits to you...
Volunteer Drivers can gain valuable experience of working with children with complex needs, and learning how to support and encourage them to participate in activities. Volunteers can develop their own skills and confidence in working with others, while being part of a supporting and engaging staff team.
