We are looking for a musician with skills to lead an informal singing group for older people. We know that there are many isolated older people in our community. We know that there are many isolated older people in our community. We know that music lifts the mood and that singing is positive for health, both physical and mental. We in Lochee Parish Church aim to contribute to the wellbeing of our community and would like to run regular (weekly) singing sessions for older people.

It is planned to run the group from May to September in the first instance. A pilot of 4 sessions could be tried by the volunteer, before commiting regularly.

Experience required: Musician who can lead community singing and encourage participation.
Travel details: Lochee Parish Church is in Lochee High Street. Expenses will be offered,

Expenses details: At the Church of Scotland standard rate for car travel or at public transport cost on receipt of tickets
Taster available: Yes
Taster details: We would meet with the volunteer to discuss the format and one session could be tested with an invited group.
Training details: The volunteer would be supported by Lochee Parish Church and Community Circle who would be in attendance at all sessions to take care of all arrangements except music.
