Description

CAPS provides Individual Advocacy in East Lothian and Midlothian and runs several
experience-led Collective Advocacy projects across Lothian.
You will be part of a team of Management Committee members, the majority of whom are people with lived experience of mental health issues, in accordance with CAPS constitution.
Two members without lived experience may also sit on the committee. You will receive induction, training, guidance and support from CAPS staff.

CAPS is an independent advocacy organisation for people with mental health issues, led by people with mental health issues.

2 to 3 hours online meeting every 2 months; occasional special Management Committee meetings; occasional training and development days with CAPS staff; attendance at the AGM.

Restrictions

You must not be disqualified from being a charity trustee. This role is subject to Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme membership.
Experience required: Constitutional requirement.
Travel details: No Travel required, meetings are held online
Minimum age: 18

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Out of pocket expenses agreed in advance and incurred exclusively as a result of the role are paid monthly. Evidence of the expense incurred is required for all items to be refunded.
Training details: You will receive induction, training, guidance and support from CAPS staff. You will also receive external training on the Role & Responsibilities of Charity Trustees.
