Why do you need me?
Our fundraising team plays a vital role in ensuring our work with visually impaired people across Scotland can continue.
We are looking for event support volunteers all over Scotland. In this role you will represent the charity at local and national events. We typically attend and/or arrange a variety of events throughout the year for fundraising, awareness raising, and much more.
Whatever you do, you will be joining a dynamic team who will welcome and support volunteers to have a positive and rewarding experience.
What’s included in the role?
Volunteering within our fundraising team and with support from your volunteer manager, you will plan fundraising events.
There’s a lot you can do as a volunteer to support our events work. For example, you might be the quizmaster at a fundraising pub quiz. A team of you might be cheering on runners fundraising for us at a charity fun run and handing out bottles of water. You could be volunteering at one of our conferences, giving attendees a warm welcome and dealing with registration. Or maybe you could be one of a small team of volunteers staffing the Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans information stall at a national event.
Why should I volunteer in this role?
This role might well suit a volunteer who is interested in fundraising and/or events. It’s a great opportunity for anyone with an interest in developing a career in any of these areas.
All Sight Scotland volunteers can attend special events such as training sessions and are recognised for their contributions through our national ‘thank you’ programmes. We reimburse our volunteers’ out-of-pocket expenses; more information is available in our volunteer handbook.
We are committed to good practice in volunteer engagement and are proud to be an Investing in Volunteers accredited organisation.
Sight Scotland provides specialist care, education, and support that empowers people affected by sight loss in Scotland, and their families and carers. Sight Scotland Veterans works across Scotland to support visually impaired ex-servicemen and women.
