This role involves working as part of the warehouse team in managing our stock, preparing food parcels and organising food for deliveries. Food donations are sorted, weighed and packed ready for distribution or for storage in the warehouse. You need a keen eye for detail, be a team player and organised and be able to undertake light and heavy lifting. Key tasks: • Helping to weigh and manage food donations: Sort food by date and type, removing any items that are damaged or out-of-date and weighing these out separately. • Prepare stock orders for the foodbank centre. • Collect food donations for supermarkets and other donation points. • Assist in undertaking an annual stock take as detailed in the foodbank operating manual. • Prepare stock orders for the foodbank centre and/or emergency food boxes, as appropriate.
