Role at a Glance: As an Events Volunteer, you'll be at the forefront of generating vital funds to support our Veterans. Your enthusiasm will light up various community settings as you: 📆 Schedule: Coordinate with our fundraising team based on your availability, making this a flexible commitment. 🏢 Event Setup/Clear up: Play a crucial role in setting up and tidying event/venue areas and displays, ensuring everything runs smoothly. 📋 Registration Desk Host: Welcome participants with a warm smile and assist them with registrations. 🛍️ Merchandise Maestro: Show off your sales skills by manning our Erskine-branded merchandise stalls. 🎟️ Raffle Rockstar: Sell raffle tickets and/or collect donations on-site during events. 🚚 Logistics Pro: Help transport goods and resources to and from event venues. 🏃 General Runner: Be the go-to person for various on-the-day tasks that keep the event running seamlessly. 🎉 Event Extraordinaire: If you're up for it, you might even contribute to event entertainment, activities, or event photography to capture the magic. 🤝 Support Ambassador: Provide support, encouragement, and resources to event participants taking on sponsorship challenges. As SISG, we currently have 14 hearing hubs in Ayr, Prestwick, Troon, Girvan, Alloway, Largs, Arran, West Kilbride, Saltcoats, Kilwinning, Cumnock, Kilmaurs, Galston and Kilmarnock. We also support 27 battery pick up points across North, South and East Ayrshire libraries. We also carry out visits to over 2,000 older people with hearing and/or sight loss throughout North, South and East Ayrshire each year. We wouldn't be able to carry out all this work without the help and support of our volunteers. If you would like to volunteer with us, we currently need the support of sensory loss volunteers. Even with as little as 2 hours a month to help us run our services from the different 'Hearing Hubs' which are usually based in the local libraries. Volunteers give support and information to people struggling with hearing and/or sight loss. If you have any queries, please get in contact and we will do our best to support you in your volunteering journey. Full training will be given by professionals.

The Macular Society is the UK's leading charity determined to beat the fear and isolation of macular disease with world-class research, and the best advice and support. Macular disease causes sight loss, for example when reading, looking at photos or watching television and affects mainly older people. The groups provide information, support and new friendships to those with macular disease, along with their family and friends. Whether you can spare a few hours or a couple of days a week, you’ll be doing something great to help. By giving your time, you will help the society to reach the thousands of people living with macular disease and sight loss in your area and provide life-changing support. You will be volunteering as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the group. Tasks shared by volunteers may include: -Welcoming members and guests, sharing information, wrapping things up at the end. -Organising guest speakers and suggesting social activities. -Keeping in touch with group members, maintaining a list of members and sharing updates with head office. -Collecting meeting subs. -Setting out the chairs, serving tea and coffee

What could the role involve? • Organising and attending events such as the Great Guide Dogs Tea Party, Pub Quizzes and collections in your local area • Encouraging local businesses, schools and groups to name their own guide dog puppy • Building relationships with local networks, socials groups, schools and businesses to encourage them to host their own event in support of Guide Dogs • Working as part of Guide Dogs’ fundraising team with staff and volunteers • Liaising with Community Fundraiser informing them of events in your area • Making sure your fundraising policies and procedures are followed • Ensuring that any information provided by Guide Dogs is cascaded to relevant supporters or volunteers • Ensuring income raised from events is banked in a timely manner
