FCSS has been created to challenge the inflexibility of current childcare provision across the country and to ensure equity of early years’ and childcare experience for all children regardless of family circumstances, location or specific needs. We are now seeking new Trustees to join our board and help us to drive flexible childcare across Scotland. Board Trustees are responsible for the charity’s governance and strategy, and for making sure that the charity is administered effectively. Help us to tackle child poverty by making flexible childcare the rule, not the exception!

Volunteers like you are central to what our service is all about - ensuring our Bureau is rooted within Shetland community and bringing your own gifts and experience to help ensure that people in the Shetland Community have access to the advice they need. Our burau is a charity, set up for public benefit, and one of the main duties of a trustee is to be responsible for the strategic management of the bureau and set a vision for the organisation. The Board must ensure that it adheres to all legal requirements (e.g. company, charity and employment). Good governance and setting standards as an exemplary employer are key.

Dunfermline Greenspace is a local organisation set up to benefit the community of Dunfermline and to preserve, restore and improve the environment. They aim to use public greenspace to benefit and protect the wellbeing, health, recreation and leisure of the community, while also providing education, training and volunteering opportunities. They are currently looking for new trustees to join their board. As a board member, you will attend monthly meetings and make decisions on behalf of the charity. If you have a passion for greenspaces, the environment, and heritage, and want to make Dunfermline a better and more accessible place for the local community, this could be the ideal role for you.

Based in Kirkcaldy, Nourish Support Centre provides much needed and life-changing support to families in Fife who have additional support needs. Having a child with disabilities affects the whole family and not only causes worries and anxieties, it often causes loneliness, isolation, poor mental health and poverty. Providing holistic support in a one stop shop, they know the different challenges facing families with additional support needs and they understand the importance of being able to access a wide range of emotional, practical, and financial support in one place. Nourish are looking for a board member to attend regular board meetings (typically monthly). The estimated time commitment is approximately 5-10 hours per month, including meeting preparation and follow-up.
