Established in 2018, Moray Rape Crisis provides therapeutic support, information and advocacy for children, young people and adults of all genders, aged 11 and over, in the Moray area, who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives, including rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. We also work directly with young people in schools and youth settings, and with strategic partners, towards preventing sexual violence. We are seeking motivated Trustees to help govern our growing and developing service in Moray. Working to intersectional feminist values, we are seeking a diverse range of women with a commitment to the work we do across Moray. We are particularly interested in applicants from less represented groups, and those with knowledge and experience of governance, strategy, HR and finance. MISS (Miscarriage Information Support Service) is a registered charity. We are a miscarriage support service covering all of Scotland for anyone who has experienced baby loss. We are looking to recruit trustees to the MISS board who have a mix of skills and experience to bring to our existing board. This is to enhance our current board and any background is welcome including retail, HR or IT. Board meetings are held on a bi-monthly basis and virtually, therefore there is no preference to location or where you are based. All help makes a real difference and is greatly appreciated. The secretarial role would involve key responsibilities such as: - Pre-planning dates for the year ahead to diarise board meetings - ensuring we are in quorate - Record and Distribute Minutes - Noting Actions - Progressing Reports - Online OSCR and Companies House Updates - Part of a cohesive team overseeing the business plans, strategy and decision making - Participating in the annual Away Day and AGM

*What does a Zero Tolerance trustee do? Trustees look after Zero Tolerance’s assets and make sure the charity fulfils its main aim, which is the prevention of violence against women in all its forms. Our Trustees commit to volunteering at least 4 hours a month. This time includes attending quarterly online Board meetings, sub-committee meetings, and up to two in-person training and development days annually. *The role of the Treasurer The Treasurer is the Chair of the finance sub-committee. Working closely with the Co-Directors and Operations Manager, they oversee the preparation of the management accounts for distribution to the Board before each Board meeting. The Treasurer guides and advises the Board of Trustees on all matters relating to the financial administration of the charity, the approval of budgets, independently audited annual accounts, and financial statements. With the other trustees, the Treasurer develops strategic plans that ensure that the charity is on a stable financial footing. *What do we offer? -The chance to use your experience to shape our work to end violence against women and girls in Scotland. -Induction and training on how to be a charity trustee plus a board ‘buddy’. -As far as possible we will offer practical support to carry out the role, depending on individual needs, for example equipment, travel expenses, or help to cover caring responsibilities. -Training on our policy areas. -Equality and diversity training.
