Description

No matter how good our services are, we can't properly support our community well if we don't have good Support people in the team. If this sounds like you?... we would love you to consider volunteering with us for a few hours per week.

Our Sheltered Housing is a group of 70 properties split between two complexes for older people and people with additional support needs and physical disabilities, to enable them to live independently for as long as possible within their own homes.

We are looking for people who are keen to donate some of their time to arrange and plan activities for our residents in our communal space. Activities could include setting up a knitting group, arts and crafts, games nights or even a social evening where everyone is invited to come along and have a chat with each other which will help combat social isolation and improve wellbeing. Some activities work well and some not so well the challenge is to find out which activities our residents like the best.

Organisation aims and objectives

•To provide appropriate, affordable rented housing which meets the needs of older people. •To provide a community alarm service in all sheltered housing accommodation. •Wherever possible, to provide a flexible, warden run, low level housing support service for sheltered housing tenants. •To provide clear information to all sheltered housing tenants including about their tenancy, their housing support and their rights and responsibilities. •To ensure that the sheltered housing wardens are supported, adequately trained and able to perform their duties.
