Aberlour are looking for motivated volunteers to help them provide transport for children with disabilities staying at their respite service in Glenrothes.
Rainbow Heart Cottage provides children aged 6-18 with a safe, nurturing, homely environment. While staying at Rainbow Heart Cottage, children can enjoy a range of fun activities. This is very much a home away from home for the children who stay there and provides their families with a rest from their roles as carers.
As a volunteer minibus driver, you will be helping to make a difference in the life of a child by:
assisting with travel to and from the service, and during organised activities
interacting with children and supporting them to participate in new experiences
helping children to have fun
building a child’s confidence and self esteem
being a positive role model
Aberlour works with children and young people who have experienced disadvantage or trauma, or who have disabilities. They pride themselves on their child-centred focus and strong commitment to the individual development of each child emotionally, socially, physically and intellectually. They work with whole families as well as children on their own.
