As A Volunteer General Adviser you will conduct appointments with clients and provide them with advice and options to their enquiry. This will be done after researching information on client's various queries with the use CAS databases and other online information services so good IT skills are essential. General Adviser's will also be expected to upkeep client and case records to required standard. Full training and ongoing support will be given to general advice volunteers

Volunteer General Advisers will be required to complete a minimum 2 sessions per week, either one full day or 2 half days. A minimum of six months commitment
PVG required
Experience required: Ability to research information efficiently and relay that information in a clear and concise manner. - Keen interest in learning and personal development. - Respectful of views and values which may be different from you own. - Excellent verbal communication including telephone skills while being friendly and approachable. - Efficient IT literacy skills including MS Office, email, internet and experience in working with database systems.
Travel details: Accessible via foot, Bus (Lothian and First Bus Service) or Car

Expenses details: Day saver tickets can be provided for local bus service from home address
Mileage from home address to bureau can also be reimbursed at £0.45 per mile
Lunch allowance for individuals covering a full day of volunteering.
