Bowls Scotland is the national governing body for outdoor lawn bowls in Scotland. It was formed in 2010 after both the Scottish Bowling Association and the Scottish Women's Bowling Association voted for unification. Our aim is to widen awareness and increase participation in what is already one of the most popular and successful sports in Scotland. In doing so we are in the fortunate position of being able to build on the superb work that has already been done by our clubs that have taken bowls to the heart of almost every community in the country, as well as by the national team that has won more World Championship gold medals than any other country. Bowls Scotland currently has 894 member clubs and 90,000 members. We are forming partnerships with sponsors, commercial partners and government agencies to ensure that we maximise support for our clubs and volunteers as they bid to promote bowls throughout Scotland.
