We are seeking individuals to help with running face-face communication sessions for babies, children and young people with Ds. We are also recruiting volunteers to assist with online delivery and resource making.
Down’s Syndrome Scotland is a member-led charity, established in 1982. We are the only charity in Scotland dedicated solely to supporting people with Down’s syndrome and their families and carers. We provide “all through life” support nationally across Scotland. We know that every person with Down’s syndrome is a unique individual, full of potential. We support people with Down’s syndrome to reach their fullest potential by providing a range of services, influencing public policy and by changing attitudes.

Monthly on a weekend for a few hours/ holiday periods/ during the day midweek once a week term time
We are looking for volunteers with a fitness level to cope with supporting active children.
Experience required: We are seeking individuals who are confident communicators and can support people with Ds to fulfil their potential through communication and literacy activities. Candidates should have some knowledge of Ds and be comfortable supporting babies, children and adults with learning and communication differences. This would be ideal voluntary experience for OT/SLT/ Physio/ LD healthcare or childcare students
Travel details: Mileage will be reimbursed and should be within your local authority or within an hours distance by car/ public transport
