Shop trolley volunteers will take our trolley around the various hospital floors/wards to enable patients, visitors and staff who are unable to access the shop to purchase items. Volunteers will be responsible for:
Speaking to NHS staff to access wards/check any ward specific guidance.
Ensuring patients, families and staff know the trolley is there & what is available.
Serving customers & taking payments.
Safely returning trolley & payment device back to the shop/storage.
We support and complement the work of Edinburgh's Royal Hospital for Sick Children (The Sick Kids) as well as other children’s healthcare settings across Scotland.

1 afternoon per week for at least 6 months
Experience required: Confident in speaking to a wide range of people.
Friendly & approachable.
Flexibility and a willingness to help on different tasks.
Able to undertake tasks independently and as part of a team.
Able to wear a face covering (required in clinical areas).
A PVG disclosure will be required for this role.
Travel details: Royal Hospital for Children & Young People, 50 Little France Crescent, Edinburgh.
The hospital is well served by buses from various parts of the city and from the Sherifhall park and ride.

Expenses details: Complete an expenses form which is then reviewed, signed off by relevant managers and paid directly to volunteer by bank transfer from our accounts team
Training details: Online generic induction to be completed initially. Further building induction will be given when volunteering starts along with full training on the tasks of the role. All volunteers invited to attend organisation wide volunteer training and events.
