Each year Erskine cares for ex-Servicemen and women from all backgrounds. You can help us make a difference to the lives of our country’s Veterans who have sacrificed so much. We are looking for volunteers to assist our activities staff to give our Veterans a stimulating and fun environment and the quality of life they deserve. You can help us to achieve this by offering your time, skillset, energy and support. There are lots of different activities that you can get involved with and you will be matched to the activities that suit you best. Erskine Park is a lovely homely environment where the care is excellent and we have fabulous staff who can support you.

Organisation aims and objectives

Erskine provides unrivalled support to Veterans in Scotland, through three care homes and a Veterans Village, comprising of 44 cottages, an Activities Centre, five Assisted Living Apartments and 24 Transitional Supported Apartments. Erskine’s strength lies in the very special blend of dedicated care, compassion and understanding we offer to residents and their families. Erskine care for nearly 1,000 residents each year; our care homes provide Veterans with the companionship of like-minded people. Erskine not only care for their Veterans – we care about them.

Frequency and commitment details

One morning or afternoon once or twice per week . Shifts are generally 2 hours

Restrictions

This opportunity is restricted to 18 years plus
Experience required: Are you enthusiastic committed, compassionate, fun, patient, and reliable? You will assist our fabulous staff to provide stimulating fun activities for our veterans with dementia in a supportive group setting. Residents activities are tailored to their needs.. Experience of adult care environments and dementia preferred although not essential. If you have the heart, great interpersonal skills, varied life experience and a good sense of fun we are happy to train and support you in the role
Travel details: Volunteers will travel independently by car or public transport to and from Erskine Park Care home in Bishopton. Out of pocket expenses are available to meet travel costs
