We’re looking for new Trustees with the enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment to join our Board of Trustees. If you would like to make a difference then we would like to hear from you. Did you know – from Research by Getting on Board that supports individuals to join charity Boards:

The Board of Partners for Inclusion Group is looking for additional Trustees to bring their skills and experience and work collaboratively with the Group that provides bespoke support for people with learning disabilities, mental health support needs, or both. Working closely with families, each person has a person-centred support with a team recruited especially for and with them. Each person receives their own budget for support and, as no two individuals are the same; no two support services are the same.

Organisation aims and objectives

The Partners for Inclusion Group is the overarching organisation, bringing together Partners, Just Connections, Linking Lives and dM2. We started our humble beginnings as a Project of Inclusion Glasgow, where the ethos was to support individuals to live the best life that they could, within their own homes, with their own dedicated team. Over the years we have gained a reputation for reliability, stickability and really listening to what the person is saying, as we believe all behaviour is communication. Our ethos remains the same today, as it did in the beginning. The people we support are at the heart of what we do and they are our greatest teachers. Partners for Inclusion Group exist to: > Support people with disabilities to live how they choose, whilst influencing and enhancing the opportunities available to all > To share knowledge, experiences and learning with others.

Experience required: Commitment to the organisation; Willingness to devote the necessary time and commitment; Strategic vision; Good, independent judgement; Ability to think creatively; Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of trusteeship; Ability to work effectively as a member of a team; Selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty, and leadership; Knowledge of learning disabilities, mental health support needs, or both would be beneficial.

Committee Members

Volunteers we need you, with you inspiration and motivation to serve as a board member on the Management Board of HALLA (Harlaw Area Lifelong Learning Association). We are a Board of people who run daytime and evening classes at Kaimhill Learning Centre. We have a FB page ( @HALLACommunity) where you can see some of our activities and tutored classes. We meet once a month to discuss new opportunities and management issues, to find new ways of how-to bring people of all ages in the local community into the centre. We have several weekly, social, informal learning groups where Board members can get to know each other and form a friendly working relationship. A volunteer should be passionate, enthusiastic and have a keen interest in community matters. A volunteer does not necessarily require specific skills since we all support each other to develop new skills but if you have specific ones, it would be good to introduce them to the rest of the Board so we can use them to benefit the local community. The Board would appreciate people with knowledge of IT and office procedures but enthusiasm and interest in the community are equally important. This is an amazing opportunity to discover your “hidden talents” !!! You are very welcome to attend a committee meeting and see if this is for you. Board Member/Charity Trustee

Ayrshire Tigers PFC is a community-based Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) based in Ayr which works in partnership with the Scottish Powerchair Football Association (SPFA) to provide equal opportunity for powerchair users in Ayrshire to engage in team sport. The Club is an independent organisation run by its own Board of Trustees which is elected by its members. The club is focused on providing opportunities to play, coach and support powerchair football and is open to everyone. The team is currently playing in the Scottish Powerchair Football Premiership. The Club was formed to benefit powerchair users living in Ayrshire to engage in team sport and prevent isolation by offering a place for people to come and feel welcome, have fun and be part of a team. Ayrshire Tigers PFC is seeking to recruit suitably experienced and qualified people onto our Board of Trustees. This is a rewarding opportunity to join the founding charity trustees of Ayrshire Tigers Powerchair Football Club, to help it develop, grow and become sustainable. In an increasing challenging financial environment, we are seeking to increase our working partnerships, improve our effectiveness, continue to develop creative approaches to meet need and increase our income. To help achieve this, we are seeking new volunteer Board Trustees, particularly those with an appropriate level of the following knowledge, skills or experience:  Grant Funding Applications  Fundraising  Marketing (selling and promoting the club in the community)  Admin  Social Media  Club Development As a trustee you will help to set and maintain the charity’s vision, mission and values. You will also help to ensure that the charity: • pursues its charitable purposes as defined in its Governing Document • complies with relevant legislation or regulations • works towards sustainability by developing a funding strategy • maintains the financial stability of Ayrshire Tigers PFC, • resources are well managed and used effectively. As a trustee you will also be involved in appointing and supporting Ayrshire Tigers PFC volunteers. New Trustees should be able to attend at least 75% of meetings per year, actively participate, to read papers in advance of meetings and participate in other tasks as arising from time to time. It is important to note that no one individual is responsible for the governance of the charity, rather we act collectively and make decisions based on collective responsibility. Not had experience as a trustee? Don’t worry - We have support in place to support all new trustees. A full UK driving license is desirable but not essential. In return for your time, the club will provide any training deemed necessary and put you through your PVG. Charity Trustees

Aberdeen in Recovery (AiR) was granted Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) charitable status in March this year. We are now looking to find talented, passionate and skilled people to fill some vacant seats on our Board of Trustees to help us grow and develop our innovative and solution focused new charity. This is a unique opportunity to help lay the foundations to ensure AiR has a long-term future as a charity with solid processes in place to ensure it meets its mission of: “To be a bridge from ‘dependence’ to ‘independence’ for the individual seeking to recover from problematic substance use and addictive behaviours”. This is such an exciting and invigorating prospect for individuals to get involved and be participant in the tsunami of change which is now gaining momentum and being driven by “Experts by Experience” and the vibrant Lived Experienced Communities which are blossoming, not only locally but are now established as a national phenomena. Since its conception, AiR and its members have worked tirelessly to establish and build collaborative relationships with professional services and third sector support agencies. We have consistently driven the message that individuals who have personal lived/living experience of active substance use, including Family members who have been affected by the addictive behaviours of a loved one, and the Recovery Communities they represent have something valid, essential and extremely beneficial to bring to described Recovery Orientated Systems of Care (ROSC). We can provide existing services and clinical structural systems with resources, skills and capabilities that they, no matter how much effort, time and money they invest, will never be able to offer or provide. So, it gives the greatest of pleasure to see this is now recognised on the highest levels that “Recoverists” can productively contribute to the design, development and delivery of truly person-centred ROSC. This being evidenced by the vision, philosophy and content of the Scottish Governments “Rights, Respect and Recovery” Drug and Alcohol Strategy. We also believe it is reaffirmed by the recent success in being granted funding from the Government’s National Development Fund, with our principle partner Alcohol and Drugs Action (ADA), for our ‘Recovery Peer Pathway’ joint two-year project. This collaborative venture will build on three years of pilot work to further establish and build proactive and productive Developmental Pathways within ADA and their Volunteer network while in synergy with AiR membership for individuals who desire to initiate change in their behaviours and outlook as they progress on their recovery journeys within, and imperatively out-with, statutory and formal support services. We believe that the blue sky thinking behind this project categorically and emphatically fits with the expectations, outcomes and concepts of the above Government policy. So, if you have lived experience, or a stakeholder interest, and a passion for recovery and are willing to give of yourself that another may learn, you will not find a better opportunity to indulge your appetite than from within Aberdeen in Recovery. We are looking for people who are passionate about ending child hunger and ensuring that every child receives a daily meal in a place of education. As a Community Volunteer you can contribute as an individual or become part of one of our local groups of passionate volunteers, helping to grow our movement by motivating and inspiring people in your local community to support our work.
