Cohousing Scotland is a charity supporting innovative housing solutions. We act as a support forum for local Cohousing groups, fostering best practice, promoting opportunities and providing guidance to stakeholders. As a charity fully operated by volunteers, we are looking for the clear and strategic mind of a Finance & HR trustee to help us get ready to apply for funding and employ staff.

Aberdeen Civic Society have great opportunities for people to help volunteering as Executive Committee Members. The Executive Committee work to advance the objectives of the Society which are: • To stimulate public interest in and care for the beauty, history and character of the city of Aberdeen and its surroundings. • To encourage the preservation, development and improvement of features of general amenity and historic interest. • To encourage high standards of architectural planning. • The Society pursues these aims by means of illustrated lectures, discussions, visits and walkabouts. An important feature of the Society's work is its Awards and Commendations Scheme. Through this, encouragement and recognition are given to those who have contributed to the amenity of the city by means of new buildings or the restoration and preservation of old buildings. The Society keeps itself informed on planning applications made to the City Council. It submits comments and suggestions, and lodges objections when proposals are considered detrimental to the city. Committee members are sought to help with the following activities: • to arrange the annual programme of talks • to organise the Society's social events- the annual Supper and Summer Outing • to research, discuss and respond to current Aberdeen City planning applications and to participate in public consultations on urban planning • to improve the Society's communication with the public through social and other media A fantastic opportunity to help with the preservation, development and improvement of features of general amenity and historic interest in Aberdeen. Orkney ZeroWaste are currently seeking to recruit Trustees (Directors) and would welcome expressions of interest from people of all backgrounds who have a passion for reducing, reusing and recycling waste in order to help protect Orkney’s rich natural environment. Trustees share the collective responsibility for the effective governance and development of Orkney ZeroWaste, setting the charity’s strategy and major policies in accordance with the Charity's, vision, mission, and values. They are responsible for monitoring performance against the charity’s strategic aims and objectives, scrutinising the management of risk, and fulfilling the statutory governance obligations. They are also ambassadors for the charity and are expected to fully embody our values. Roles are unremunerated, but reasonable expenses (e.g., travel) will be reimbursed. Key activities Orkney ZeroWaste’s Board meets monthly. These meetings take place either virtually or in Orkney. Trustees are expected to commit to attending meetings, where possible, as well as to join suitable Sub-Committees/ groups, based on their skills and expertise. We also encourage Trustees to engage in other activities where possible to support the work of the charity.

In Scouting, our adults have a responsibility to make sure that the Programme is fun and exciting. We must also make sure that it is safe. The Scout Association’s policies, rules, code of behaviour, advice on Child Protection and safety policy are there to ensure our young people stay safe while they enjoy themselves and learn.
