Description

The cafe is a warm welcoming space in the community, based in the new Wellesley Centre, behind Wellesley Parish Church, Methil. They offer a wide variety of groups and activities for all ages and the cafe offers soups, sandwiches, baked potatoes, filled paninis and other light meals.
The cafe is open Thursdays 10am-1pm and Fridays 10am-2pm and the chef will be fully involved in making food to order, planning, food preparation, purchasing and ordering items as necessary. Staff will help with budget management and be available for support; other volunteers will assist with food preparation and other kitchen tasks as required.

Restrictions

Experience required: Volunteers should be friendly, approachable, and accepting of all members of the community who may use the cafe, including volunteers. You should be familiar with running and managing a kitchen.

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Public transport will be reimbursed up to the cost of a bus local day ticket. For volunteers outside the local area, consideration may be given to reimbursement of a Fife Central bus day ticket. Mileage can also be considered for reimbursement, for local volunteers.
Training details: Food & hygiene training can be provided if required, An induction will be provided to all volunteers, covering how the cafe runs, an introduction to staff and other volunteers and a run through of the current menu and arrangements.
