Fundraising for research begins at your local charity shop. Whether you’re a lover of vintage clothing, stunning jewellery or beautiful bric-a-brac or fancy the company of other friendly volunteers our shop sort room is the place to be. Our team is welcoming and friendly, we love meeting people form all walks of life.
Typical tasks include: Sorting donated items and preparing them for sale, using a clothes steamer, identifying unsalable donations for recycling, keeping the sort room tidy.
We are a charity shop selling donated and new goods and are open Monday - Saturday 9.30am - 5.00pm.

Experience required: We are looking for someone who is: friendly and approachable, keen to learn, happy to be part of a team.
Full training will be provided for all aspects of the role.
Travel details: The British Heart Foundation shop is at 202-204 Portobello High Street and is close to several bus routes.

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Volunteers can claim back reasonable costs for public transport to and from the shop. Volunteers will need to use the cheapest method available and keep their tickets to give to the manager.
Training details: Volunteers will receive an induction session, Health & Safety training, and role-specific training on shop processes.
