The local Scout groups in Aberlour, Dufftown and Keith are needing volunteers -- and not just to help directly with young people. What they really need are one or two people with finance or management skill or experience, to join their local scouting committee.
This is a real chance to be part of a something incredible, that truly changes the lives of so many young people in Moray. Committee members meet about three times per year, but have an important role in making sure the local group is effectively run and that teams are supported. Committee members make sure the Scout Group has a good place to meet, has equipment -- they can assist with the recruitment of leaders, organising social events and help to make sure finances are in order.
Scouts, prepare young people with skills for life, supported by amazing teams and other volunteers, delivering inspiring programmes. Committee members are vital in making this positive impact in the lives of local young people and in their local communities.
We believe that through adventure we challenge individuals so that they learn and experience new things that enrich their lives. The aim of the association is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. The method of achieving the aim of the association is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme.
