As an Education Volunteer, you will work alongside staff to:

Assist with setting up and preparing resources for Learning visits.
Support the delivery of fun and engaging curricular-based activities, including guided tours and interactive workshops.
Learn more about our award-winning Learning programme, with the potential to lead on elements of our tours and workshops.

Organisation aims and objectives

The guardianship, preservation and portrayal of Dundee's heritage in ways that educate, inspire and enlighten currt future generations. Trust is responsible for the operation of Discovery Point Antarctic Museum, Royal research Ship Discovery and Scotlands Jute Museum at Verdant Works. Both museums are multi award winning 5 star accredited.

Restrictions

Experience required: No prior experience or qualifications required! You must be comfortable engaging with children and young people. Good communication and teamwork skills, alongside an interest in local history, would be beneficial.

Support

Expenses paid: Yes
Expenses details: Travel for the purposes of volunteering, i.e. to and from the place of volunteering (up to a maximum of £10 per trip). To and from in-house/external training. Any (pre-approved) out-of-pocket expenses.
Training details: An induction, full training, and named contact is provided upon starting. Operating on an open-door policy, ongoing support is available via our EAP (Health Assured), trimonthly team meetings and newsletters, and regular 1:1s.
