Provide leadership to the charity and its Board, ensuring that the Charity has maximum impact for its beneficiaries.
Ensure that the Board operates within its charitable objectives and provides a clear strategic direction for the Charity. You will be a key member of our board, who are all active volunteers within the hub, and you will join us in shaping the future of the organisation, ensuring that the hub continues to be a welcoming, creative space supporting local heritage and culture.
To develop historic Madelvic House as a creative hub for the benefit of the local community. Our purposes are To advance the arts by exhibiting and encouraging community involvement in creating art in various forms. To advance heritage by preserving and repurposing historic Madelvic House as a thriving artist/maker based community hub. To advance culture by encouraging integration of different sectors within the local community through film, exhibitions, talks and community initiated events. To advance education through provision of a variety of workshops, films, talks and awareness raising activities. To advance environmental protection and improvement through promoting recycling / upcycling and creating a community garden. To provide a broad range of recreational activities. The hub will provide a welcoming space for people to meet and learn new skills.

This role requires about 4 hours a week on an ongoing basis.
Experience required: Essential:
Clear and confident communication skills, Excellent organisational skills, Skilled in meeting facilitation.
Desirable:
Knowledge of SCIO / charity governance
Experience of volunteer coordination, being on a charity board, writing funding applications, project management. knowledge of Granton.
Travel details: You will lead monthly board meetings which usually take place at granton:hub in Madelvic House. Other duties during the week can be completed flexibly from your home or granton:hub.

Training details: Granton: hub is currently an entirely volunteer run organisation. You will be given a full induction by the existing trustees. Additional training may be available through EVOC if desired. You will have the support of other trustees and volunteers at the hub.
