Description

Supporting a local charity board in the role of Treasurer. Developing the strategy of the Charity and defining the path for sustainability and development of the organisation along with the Board, Trust manager, and the Staff Leadership Team. Within this, the Treasurer particularly considers financial evidence and analysis. Supporting the Finance officer with the annual budgeting process and in reviewing management accounts presented to the boards bi-monthly meetings.

Organisation aims and objectives

To provide a vehicle for community-led development of Edinburgh Old Town that meets identified community needs, through encouraging the involvement of local residents in planning and implementing specific initiatives. To advance environmental protection and improvement in Edinburgh Old Town. To preserve the diverse culture and historic integrity of Edinburgh Old Town. To assist those in need by promoting education and skills training opportunities particularly in Edinburgh Old Town.

Restrictions

Experience required: - Strong numerical skills - Desirable experience in accountancy and using financial packages - Understanding of the workings of a charity - Interest in community issues - Strong written and spoken communication skills
Travel details: The Crannie Community Hub, 9 Cranston Street, Edinburgh, EH8 8BE. The hub is in central Edinburgh near all transport links including Waverley train station.
