Description

Frontline Fife Homelessness Services is a mid-sized, Scottish charity which works across the whole of Fife in partnership with local communities, agencies, statutory bodies and through national connections. They are committed to ending homelessness across Fife by taking preventative action and by assisting and supporting people to choose the life they aspire to.

Due to recent retirements, they are now seeking to recruit two trustee positions onto their experienced Board. The role is voluntary (unpaid). The Board are responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of the charity, contributing to the development of their work, ensuring effective governance. They meet four times a year and participates in their annual celebration meeting.

Applications from those who are established or developing their career in the fields of Housing, Human Resources and Divinity/Faith Communities are sought. They also welcome those who can draw on experience of overcoming barriers and exclusions because of social, cultural or racial backgrounds, sexuality, gender or gender identity, disability or migration status.

Organisation aims and objectives

Frontline Fife work with people experiencing housing difficulty or facing homelessness, connecting them with specialist help, advice and information to enable them to resolve issues and stabilise their current situation. We believe everyone should have access to decent, affordable housing options in an areas that suits their economic needs.

Restrictions

FLF articles requires trustees to be 18years plus at the time applying for the role Trustee
Experience required: Experience in the fields of Housing, Human Resources and Divinity/Faith Communities are sought, or experience of overcoming barriers and exclusions because of social, cultural or racial backgrounds, sexuality, gender or gender identity, disability or migration status.
Travel details: Board meetings are once a quarter at Frontline Fife Head office, 57 – 59 Viewforth Street, Kirkcaldy, KY1 3DJ Travel expenses will be reimbursed. Should it be the case that Fife HO is not suitable due to specific requirements of trustees this will be accommodated.

Expenses details: Public transport costs can be reimbursed or mileage at the rate of 42p per mile
Training details: As per OSCR guidance volunteer trustees receive a trustee’s induction pack, meeting with Chair and/or CEO to review trustee business and procedures and undertake development opportunities as agreed by the board.
