Unpacking, sorting donations and assigning them to the designated area in the warehouse.
Making starter packs – food, crockery, pots and pans, cleaning, bed linens, towels, curtains or toiletries.
Keeping the packing and sorting areas safe and tidy.
Recycling items as necessary.
Working in a team and ensuring warehouse is clean and organised.
Fresh start runs a service for people who have experienced homelessness and have recently been offered a tenancy of their own. With the assistance of volunteers, Fresh Start offers both practical and emotional support through a variety of integrated services that are intended to help people manage the transition to independent living and to prevent the cyclical nature of homelessness.

Travel details: Fresh Start is based in Pilton on Ferry Road Drive, on all main bus routes from the city to Ferry Road and Crewe Road with a short walk into Pilton.

Expenses details: If a volunteer needs support to access the opportunity, bus tickets can be provided.
The volunteer can get these on the arranged shift.
Training details: All volunteers are given training in the role and invited to do a shadow shift. Once happy with the role, they are placed on a rota as part of a team. A review is carried out after 4 shifts to ensure all parties are happy with the arrangement.
