Description

Be a dear and volunteer! If you have a couple of hours a week to spare, or you are currently thinking of branching out to the care sector and would like to know whether it is something for you, why not volunteer at the South Lodge? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual who aspires to become involved within the social care sector to provide one to one befriending within our residential unit.
Engage with our residents - chat, watch movies, read the paper, play dominoes and cards or simply bring a smile and share news over a cuppa. All volunteers are supported by a mentor/senior social are worker with information and guidance.

• Provide 1:1 befriending to our residents providing social chats.
• Develop positive relationships with staff, visitors, and residents.
• Adhere to policies and procedures within the partnership.
• Participate with activities and events.

  • No prior training is needed, except for an enthusiasm to be with our residents.
  • Induction training is provided.
  • PVG checks needed and will be paid for by social care.
