Description

The Floating Stage is a brand new initiative to provide a unique entertainment venue on the Scottish Lowland Canal network from Edinburgh to Glasgow,(and all points in between) We are looking for a Graphic Design Volunteer to support the project in achieving our vision. The Graphic Designer will help us engage our audiences by creating compelling digital assets for use across our website, social media, on-line newsletters, press releases and print materials.

The Floating Stage will be predominantly run by volunteers, for the benefit of local communities, social enterprise and 3rd sector organisations, as well as up and coming and established performers of all genres of entertainment .

We are looking for a Graphic Designer to help with our design and creative outputs. Responsibilities may include:

• Brand development including our logo
• Creating image templates for social media and newsletter design
• Marketing materials to promote event locations

We are looking for a volunteer who has experience in graphic design and marketing.

As the project becomes established, it is envisaged there will be considerable liaison with major sponsors, the fundraising team, marketing & publicity teams among others.

The Floating Stage is a unique entertainment venue, created and operated by volunteers, capable of being re-positioned to various locations along the banks of a canal to be made available to both budding entertainers and professionals alike to put on shows for local communities. The Floating Stage concept is designed to help a wide ranging multi faceted list of organisations, communities and individuals.

Frequency and commitment details

To suit the successful candidate, but a strong enthusiasm is required to drive this project to becoming a successful programme

Restrictions

Experience required: While there is no need for experience in Canal Activity, Entertainment Industry, or Event Management, a previous involvement in any of these may be useful, but definitely not necessary. The position will however suit someone with good computer literacy, and a good working knowledge of all the common software programmes. They will require to have their own IT equipment and programmes.
Travel details: It is envisaged that this position will be worked from home with most liaison being on-line (Zoom, Skype, Teams etc.)
Minimum age: 18

Support

Expenses details: It is not envisaged that the graphic designer will incur any expenses, but any approved expenditure will be reimbursed.
Training details: Induction training will take the form of intensive introduction to the project concepts, the objectives of the programme, and informal meetings with many of the influential supporters of the initiative.
