Description

COTAG are currently looking to recruit volunteer Operations Controllers to enhance our operational capability within the Northeast Corner of Scotland. No previous experience is required as training will be given, just a sound understanding of computerised systems and a good telephone manner. The role involves taking response request calls and allocating duties to our operational crews. You will be required to monitor response progress and liaise with Emergency, NHS & Care Services. This role is voluntary and unpaid; however, you would only be required during times of adverse weather and local emergency. The intention is to set up an Operations Control Team which, would allow us to operate a flexible duty rota system. Suitable applicants should have access to Laptop or home PC and preferably a quiet corner of their home in which to operate. You would be required to download and operate our BroadNet Communications Platform and operate other portable communications devices e.g., Digital Two-way Radio.

To provide 4 x 4 transport to assist the police and emergency services in adverse weather conditions and emergencies

Restrictions

Must have access to a good Internet connection and phone signal -The role requires use of an Internet based program that needs a stable bandwidth. Phone signal needed to allow for key stake holders to make initial calls for assistance.
Experience required: Computer/IT/Web Phone Support/Information
Travel details: Home based with occasional travel to central control areas
Minimum age: 18

Support

Training details: Training will be given in the use of our BroadNet system. How to communicate with the operational team and map reading skills.
