Working within Mental Health - Transporting clients to and from our service for their regular weekly session. This can be a short term or long term basis, depending on the needs of the clients and also the volume of referrals we receive.
The involvement of this role is changeable dependent on client needs, new referrals and circumstances. Generally, encourage and support our clients to become more involved in their local communities and to access our service independently, however initially this can come with its barriers. Struggling to access public transport due to rural locations, anxiety or inability to travel independently are just a few of those difficulties that some of our clients experience. As a volunteer driver within our team you would be required to drive your own vehicle, transporting clients between their homes and our Blairgowrie and Perth locations for clients’ agreed session times. It is paramount you are able to provide a comfortable and safe journey experience. For some clients, this will be short term with a view to them building confidence to travel independently in the future, for others this may be on a more long term basis. This role includes travel expenses to cover fuel and wear and tear.
The level of involvment and your availability may be varied from week to week. Our aim is to recruit a pool of bank drivers that we can access to support our clients; responding to demand. This means that your availabilty and level commitment will fluctuate. We will aim to provide you with as much notice as possible, however in the event of last minute changes we may need to contact you.
